KNITTED FABRICS ( HOSIERY)

There are two different types of knitting: weft knitting and warp knitting. These two types of knitting are very different and will be considered separately. What differentiates them from woven fabric is that they are made from interconnected loops of yarn rather than interlaced straight yarns as in woven fabrics. This section will cover the production of knitted fabrics and discuss the differences, benefits and limitations of weft knitted and warp knitted fabrics. It will also review knitted fabric flaws and will conclude with the recognition of knitted fabrics.
